In 1974, the Minnesota Legislature declared: That it is the policy of the State of Minnesota to encourage, and contribute to the rehabilitation of criminal offenders, and to assist them in the resumption of the responsibilities of citizenship. The opportunity to secure employment or to pursue, practice, or engage in a meaningful, and profitable trade, occupation, vocation, profession or business is essential to the rehabilitation, and the resumption of the responsibilities of citizenship.
Minnesota Justice Coalition agrees with this direction and works to advance a Restorative Justice Policy that holds true to this declaration.
The Minnesota Justice Coalition builds coalitions, and partnerships to combat injustice and racial inequality. We believe that we have a duty to speak truth to power and educate the community, and allies in this fight. Whether it be in our schools or our government institutions we must be a voice for the voiceless, and a consciousness that insures that Transparency, Accountability, and Justice are the cornerstones of progress.
Drafts legislation that directly impacts the community, and the people within it. We work to educate legislative and congressional members on these issues.
